Paper Piecings

Paper Piecing is an art form all in itself. The great part of paper piecing is that you don't have to be an artist. It is a fairly simple process and the results can be beautiful and functional. Here are two descriptions of the paper piecing process.

Get your scissors!

There are two ways to do paper piecing. The first is to find a web site that has patterns all ready for you to use. The pattern will need to be traced onto your colored paper. Then you just cut it out, and glue the pieces together. Try the one below!

The second way is to make the pattern yourself. Browse through coloring books, craft magazines or clipart on your computer. Make a copy of the design. Then break down the design into several different sections. It is easiest to cut along the lines where the color changes or the where the theme changes. Transfer your pattern onto the colored paper, cut it out and reassemble the pieces and then glue it all together. Once together, try using chalk or colored pens to finish it off. Or try outling the edges to give the paper piecing definition.
