What's your style?
Which Scrapbook is best for you?
First Things First
There is an important decision that has to be made before you can begin.
You need to decide which size of scrapbook is right for you.
- 8 1/2 X 11 (Notebook size)
- 12 X 12 (Traditional size)
My personal choice is the 8 1/2 X 11 size. That way I can just use
a regular three ring binder style notebook and papers (coincidently, that is the only size
scrapbook supplies sold
at my local store). Then once my pages are finished,
I can rearrange them into a different order, depending on which pages I do
first.
People who take more photographs, or people who need more space when
they are creating their masterpieces should use the larger 12 X 12
scrapbooks. If at all possible, I highly recommend that you
try to find one that has a side binder effect,
so that you can rearrange your pages once you finish them.
Some stores sell the old fashioned style of scrapbook. You know the
one that you had when you were a kid? This type
has the heavy card stock for the pages and has a binding on the side.
(After reading that description, I hope you will recognize the style
when you see it in the store). This would be a great scrapbook for
someone who wants a particular event, person or activity documented.
I would think that this style of scrapbook, would take a lot of organization
to pull off, but I think the final result would be stunning.
At any rate, choosing the style of scrapbook is totally up to you.
You may want to give the styles of scrapbook a dry run in the store
before you buy them (don't let the salesperson bully you). Give it
some thought because it would be pretty
hard to convert your 12 X 12 book into a 8 1/2 X 11 book.
