Acid Free Really is Best!
Many papers, page protectors and glues contain acid. This acid can
interact with your photographs causing them to fade in unusual ways.
It can also cause them to become brittle and yellow.
It is very important to purchase supplies that are clearly marked acid-free.
If you plan to have your scrapbooks around for generations to
come, then make this important effort to protect your treasure.
Don't sweat it if something cool you want to use in your scrapbook is not acid-free. Just remember
it is impossible to be completely acid-free. Your hands and fingers
contain acid and by merely touching your photos, you are contaminating
them. But don't worry, chances are that the small amount of acid in your pages, won't start
causing damage for some time to come.
